I could not discern specifically what "well known HR practices" the study is referring to, but I suspect it includes the current idea of managers handing over more of their managerial work to HR (orientation, job scoping, performance management, coaching, selection, training), leaving the managers with only their "technical" work to do. By SSRN - This study aims at identifying similarities and differences between the leadership practices of managing entrepreneurs and professional CEOs and to investigate how these impact on their immediate subordinates' satisfaction, commitment, motivation, and effectiveness (Engagement). Design: A multiple-respondents survey, aiming at CEOs and their immediate subordinates was conducted. Factor analysis, correlations and moderated regression analysis were used in order to reach conclusions.
